Story and Music Festival

Storytelling is as old as the human race.  Join us for a gathering of yarn-spinners sharing stories fit for all ages.  From historical to modern, sad to funny, we will have something for everyone.  This year our event will have a fun musical component.  If you would like to sponsor all or part of this year’s event, please email events@moland.org.

The 2014 Story and Music Festival was held on June 22 from 1:00-4:00.  A wonderful cast delighted us with traditional storytelling and story though music.  Featured were Sue Tafel with puppets, Keith Henley with his slave in a box story, Kim Hanley as Molly Pitcher, and David Emerson as Davy Crockett.  Ron Albanese, Kim and Danny Adlerman, and the Bucks Mont Squires of Song delighted us musically.  Here was our schedule:200 px crockett 2

Ron Albanese performed his POLKA DOT’S SUPER-SILLY SING-A-LONG with daughter Sofia.

The 2013 Story and  Music Festival was enjoyed on June 23rd from 1:00-4:00.  The event featured a wide range of eight storytellers who will thrilled us with scary, funny, silly, historic, and musical stories and was made possible through a grant from the Bucks County Conference and Visitors Center.

Kim Hanley as Annie Oakley
Jonathan Sprout’s concert brought American Heroes to life for us!
Ruthanne E. Ankney performed Welsh and midsummer folktales with live music.

Ron Albanese and his daughter Sophia performed comedy routines, stories, and songs.
Bill Wood has been telling stories professionally for more than twenty years!
Kim Hanley is a favorite at the Moland House. She has been many faces for us, including Betsy Ross and Mary Pickingsgill. For our Story Fest, she shared her knowledge of Annie Oakley.

Ronald Carter is a native Philadelphian, storyteller, historic re-enactor, musician, and visual artist. This US Air Force Vietnam era veteran is a member of the National Association of Black Storytellers.
Susannah Brody shared short stories of real people who lived in Southeastern PA. at the time of the American Revolution.
Go Jonathan!

Every thirty minutes we will feature two new tellers: one traditional and one musical!

The 2012 Storytelling Festival featured seven storytellers from New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
