Education at the Moland House

Local schools bring their students to the Moland House so they may learn about its importance in the American Revolution and living in colonial times.

We have five stations which cover:

• An introduction to the history of the Moland House during the Revolution;
• How the house was restored;
• An opportunity to play with colonial games and toys;
• An insight into Colonial living that covers such thing as cooking, clothing, class distinctions, and customs;
• An explanation of archaeology at the Moland House showing artifacts that have been recovered from around it.

Some of our interpreters are in Colonial attire.

The program typically runs for about two hours or more.  The students have about 20 to 25 minutes at each station. It usually takes about 15 minutes to start after the students arrive and to get them back on their transportation.
