PA Historical Marker Dedicated
and the Warwick Township Historical Society
cordially invited you to the dedication
of a revised state historical marker at the
Moland House
1641 Old York Road,
Hartsville, Pennsylvania
The dedication ceremony was held on Saturday, August 19, 2006 starting at 4:00 PM.
The revised marker is entitled Moland House, and mentions the roles of the Marquis de Lafayette and Count Casimir Pulaski at the 1777 Neshaminy Encampment of General Washington and 11,000 troops.
The 5th Pennsylvania and 1st Continental Reenactors recreated the encampment at the Cross Roads by the Neshamini on the Moland farm in August 1777.
The dedication ceremony was followed by a gala buffet dinner and tour of the historic Moland House. Attendees dined on chicken cordon bleu and filet mignon, a far better fare than was available to the Continental and militia soldiers at the original event.
More information about our new marker and the Pennsylvania Historical marker program may be found in ON THE RECORD.
